This painting came out a session with one of my favorite models. We had the lights in the studio very low, and she was taking all sorts of poses as I took photos and sketched. She actually took this pose as she was taking a break. It was the best of all. The way her body was hidden by the shadows, and her wonderful long blonde hair flowed over her shoulder was perfect. I did this from a photo, but also from many sessions with her not so much as in the pose but just there to help with the feeling.
